
Martin Coppack - Director, Fair By Design
Martin leads the Fair By Design team. Martin has held a range of positions, all with a common objective to place low income and vulnerable people at the heart of policy making. Martin is a Commissioner for the Financial Inclusion Commission, and also an adviser to the Canadian financial regulator on consumer protection.
Previously he has been a board member of the Association of Charitable Foundations, the Nationwide Foundation and the Institute of Consumer Affairs, as well as a Commissioner for Scope’s Commission on Extra Costs for Disabled People.

Kip Meek - Chairman, Fund
Kip is an Inquiry Chair at the Competition and Markets Authority, Chair of A Million Ads (an Ascension investee company) and a non-executive director of the Wireless Infrastructure Group. He is also the co-founder of the Communications Chambers, a network of senior communications industry professionals, providing public policy and strategic advice to the industry. He was previously a board member of Ofcom.

Emma Steele - Investment Director, Fund
Emma is FBD’s dedicated Investment Director. Emma joined from Eastside Primetimers, where she advised charities and social enterprises of various sizes and sectors on investment readiness and capacity building projects. Prior to that, Emma spent 5 years in Corporate Banking at Santander Bank. Emma has a Master’s Degree in Development Economics from the University of Sussex.

Carl Packman - Head of Corporate Engagement, Fair By Design
Carl previously worked for Toynbee Hall leading research on poverty, financial resilience and capability. Before that he worked with a number of charities, think tanks and academics as a freelancer specialising in research on the impact of high cost credit on people’s personal finances. He has written two books on the subject.

Sohaib Malik - Policy and Communications Officer, Fair By Design
Sohaib previously led on grant administration at the Barrow Cadbury Trust (which manages Fair By Design). Prior to this, he was responsible for academic interventions at a sixth form in Tower Hamlets. Sohaib started his career as a marketing coordinator for a youth charity.

Sam Marchant - Investment Associate, Fund
Sam launched his first business, a low sugar snack bar brand, while studying at university with the aim of tackling obesity and diabetes with honestly healthy snacks. Since scaling this business internationally, he has become an investor in a wide number of impact-focused businesses and is a trustee of a UK based charity that supports food programmes across India.
