Denise is Head of Social Investment at Joseph Rowntree Foundation.

Just prior to joining JRF, she served as Interim Portfolio Director at Big Society Capital, while previous social investment roles included leading the CAN Breakthrough venture philanthropy fund and providing business and finance advice to social enterprises and public sector commissioners at Numbers for Good. Earlier in her career, she worked for 15 years as a financial institutions specialist at the World Bank and Merrill Lynch.
