People in poverty pay more for insurance, and this extra cost is hitting them harder in a cost-of-living crisis. This could mean car insurance costing more because a postcode is considered ‘undesirable’ or having to pay more for home insurance because consumers pay monthly, rather than yearly.
Fair By Design has been working with Social Market Foundation on research looking at the key issues around insurance and the poverty premium. We will be sharing the findings of this research study at an online event on Monday 13th March. You can sign up via this link.
We will hear from a wide range of speakers including Tulip Siddiq (Labour Shadow Economic Secretary to the Treasury) and Baroness Nicky Morgan (Conservative).
