The work of Fair by Design was discussed as part of the Treasury Select Committee inquiry on the Future of Financial Services this week, with Emma Hardy MP highlighting the important role a cross-cutting “must have regard” to financial inclusion could have in combating the poverty premium.

Emma also shared a press release, highlighting the testimony Martin Coppack, Fair by Design Director, gave to the Future of Financial Services inquiry led by the Treasury Select Committee in January. Emma said:

“The poverty premium is something not widely known or spoken about but impacts everyone living in low-income areas. After hearing the powerful testimony by Martin Coppack from Fair by Design, I knew I needed to support their campaign to end this system which ensures that it costs more to be poor.”
